Mosaicked Multispectral Focal Plane Arrays
نویسندگان
چکیده
A mosaicked sensor is a monolithic array of many sensors, arranged in a geometric pattern. In the commercial digital color camera market, the mosaicked color filter array (CFA) technique is widely used, in which instead of using three charged coupled devices (CCDs) to capture the red, green, and blue spectral bands for each pixel, each pixel is associated with just one device covered by an optical filter sensitive to a specified wavelength. In this way, only one spectral component is sensed at each pixel and the other spectral components must be estimated from neighboring pixels. The CFA overlayer is fabricated in a sequence of conventional steps that places a filter of a wavelength-selective material over each cell in a pattern according to a specific sensor design.

Airborne Digital Sensors – a New Approach
Digital imagery from satellites or multispectral and hyperspectral scanners is well accepted. Tremendous challenges are inherent in the development of a digital sensor to acquire imagery suitable for both high precision photogrammetric mapping and image processing for interpretative purposes. The performance of the film aerial camera is almost impossible to reach with current digital technology...
متن کاملQWIP and MCT for Long Wavelength and Multicolor Focal Plane Array Applications
Infrared (IR) sensor technology is critical to all phases of ballistic missile defense. Traditionally, material systems such as indium antimonide (InSb), platinum silicide (PtSi), mercury cadmium telluride (MCT), and arsenic doped silicon (Si: As) have dominated IR detection. Improvement in surveillance sensors and interceptor seekers requires large, highly uniform, and multicolor (or multispec...
متن کاملAutomated Coregistration of MTI Spectral Bands
In the focal plane of a pushbroom imager, a linear array of pixels is scanned across the scene, building up the image one row at a time. For the Multispectral Thermal Imager (MTI), each of fifteen different spectral bands has its own linear array. These arrays are pushed across the scene together, but since each band’s array is at a different position on the focal plane, a separate image is pro...

The Compressive Optical MONTAGE Photography Initiative (COMP-I) is an initiative under DARPA’s MONTAGE program. The goals of COMP-I are to produce 1 mm thick visible imaging systems and 5 mm thick IR systems without compromising pixel-limited resolution. Innovations of COMP-I include focal-plane coding, block-wise focal plane codes, birefringent, holographic and 3D optical elements for focal pl...
